Heres another application you can use the slingbox for.
Ive connected the video inputs onto a 10 year old video camera I have lying around, and streamed the pics across my lan. The camera is just sitting on the windowsill and its starting to get dark so the pics are a bit washed out. I'll get Stick to have a go for a proper test - he can keep an eye on my sat dishes whilst Im at work :roflmao:

They should do the amount of peanuts they get through. They can empty that big feeder in 5 days

This is really very good. Loving watching the birdies. Sound is very good too (and more importantly, perfectly synchronised).
Been fiddling with switching the input to analogue TV. Interestingly, in comparison to BBC2 received via satellite at home, the Sling client fires up with around a two-second delay. After less than ten minutes, this has extended to over 30 seconds - I have no idea where this is going - I'll leave it streaming for an hour or so to see. The Slingbox is clearly buffering the video, but has also obviously only got a finite amount of memory available. I suppose that at some point it will have to take a checkpoint and reset the stream. Maybe not good for watching live football if you're ultimately going to lose a couple of minutes at some point during the match! Also possibly a problem from a security camera perspective? I obviously can't test the lag on the camera front. Maybe AS can check this out at some point. OK, now 40 mins into testing, and we're 1:40 seconds behind live TV...

Yes, woodpecker-tastic
![]() The delay from 'live' is now around 1:15 - after about an hour and a half. I didn't notice a reset of the stream, but I did have the window minimised with just the audio for company. Maybe it just 'evens out' over time?
