Default Setenta on Dreambox

Hi folks.
I was pottering aboot the gairden today, and showed the missus where I was going to mount the triax 110cm dish.
Mega grief.
I'm looking for the Scottish football for next season.
I've got an ART card for next season but (like everybody else) not sure whether it'll be of any use.
I'm skint at the moment (bloody monthly pay >)) so not many other options available to me.
She offered me a subscription to Setanta next season in exchange for not putting up the dish. :spite:
Can the dreambox decode from the card without the need for update from sly?
Is it a case of just inserting the card into the card slot or is there anything else you need to do?
Regards.

You can also get Setanta through freeview - cheaper as well, although I've no idea why :?

Don't know how Setanta works in relation to Sky, but a Sky card can be made to work perfectly well, updates and all in the Dreambox. For now, at least. A card swap might see the end of our fun.

You just have to pick the right emu. I can't tell you which ones work and which don't 'cos I'm forever switching and I don't keep track of what works with what. I'm fairly sure that Newcamd is OK.

As long as you don't have a premium package (and I'm not sure if Setanta is regarded in that way :?) then you don't have to punch the boxid into the config file either.

If you do need it, I can tell you how to get it from your Sky digibox. This box must be the one to which the premium package is paired by Sky.

Oops, forgotten I'd posted this question. ops:
Sorry, thanks for the replies.
Looks like ART will be showing a lot of Scottish games in the forthcoming season so no need for Setanta.
Couldn't get the ART card to work in the DM last night. :?
I had to use the Dragon cam for my Techno to recognise it.
Wondering how you activate it in the DM.
Is it cam specific? or should the box recognise it when it's inserted into the slot?
Regards.

I originally activated mine using camd3, but after a while that CAM stopped working and the only emu I could get to clear the channels was GBOX. It's still fine using that.

I'm not entirely sure, but I was under the impression that Setanta broadcast over Sky, so you'd need an NDS Cam? Or am I just talking out of my backside

Cheers Stick. Not using gbox, so I'm none the wiser.

Sorry Gav, I switched topic a wee bit to the ART subscription card, not the Setanta one.

Regards

Why aren't you using GBOX?!

Gav - the Dreambox has more than one software NDS CAM

Because over freeview you don't get all the coverage you get over sky.
