hi
These cams can be updated with cas 2 or 3 for best results. But it is possible with fun 4 or 5 cards.
example.
Procedure:

To load the CAM firmware u need a FunCard4 or FunCard5

You have to load the firm with the IRD switched on and the CAM inside the CI slot.

There are versions available for both Fun4 and 5.

Fun4 version
loader.hex Flash file.
EepVxxx_1_4.hex External EEPROM file (#1 card)
EepVxxx_2_4.hex External EEPROM file (#•2 card).

Fun5 version
loader.hex Flash file
EepVxxx_1_5.hex External EEPROM file

The upgrading procedure is the same for both kind of cards. The only exception is that you needn’t do steps 6 to 9 with the Fun5 because all the CAM sw fit onto the Fun5.

1)Load the first card with the following files:
Loader.hex (into Flash file)
EepVxxx_1_x.hex (into External EEPROM file).

2)Insert the card into the CAM.

3)You’re asked if you want to upgrade the CAM. Answer YES.

4)Extract cam when prompted.

5)Reinsert cam back into the receiver with card still inside.

6)Wait to be asked for the second Fun card (when using fun4 only).

7)Extract the first card from the CAM.

8)Load the second card with the files:
Loader.hex (into Flash file)
EepVxxx_2_x.hex (into External EEPROM file)

9)Insert the card into the CAM.

10)Wait until the end of the process and then extract when asked to (this resets the cam).

You should see now in the ci menu stot 1/2 the words MODULE.

Hints & tips:
Some receivers don’t initialise the CAM if they don’t have antenna signal.

If when introducing the card into the CAM you DON'T get any message, go to the CI menu of the receiver Slot 1/2 and press select to veiw download status.

I think the last update was joker 1.70 which was a bin file for use with cas programer. If i remeber correcltl they support most cards. And possibly a titainium card.

Well the cam will be going on ebay. Don't think its fully compatible with my current image on the dreambox.

Works fine on what its supposed to do but it buggers everything else right up

Causes really bad pixilation on all the other channels that don't need the cam

Don't think i'll bother with any more cams, not that i need them with the dreambox

I think the Zetas can be re-programmed as Joker CAMs
