Perfectly adequate kit for anyone wanting to dabble in the hobby without spending vast amounts of money

Bought one of these too at the weekend.
![]() We're off to the in laws caravan in the Peak District in August. Can only get 4 channels out there (this was my excuse for getting one of these). It's really something for me to play with to stop a fortnight of coldturkey! Don't worry the wife got me sussed straight away. She knows full well it won't stay on any sat or channel long enough to watch anything. :![]() My opinion - for what it's worth! To be perfectly frank, when I saw the size of the dish (approx. 35 wide x 38 high) I nearly walked away empty handed, but the thought of being in the sticks for 2 weeks - satless, swayed it. I told myself that pixelated 28.2E would be better than nothing. When I got it set up in the garden I was pleasantly surprised with the results - although I must admit that the weather conditions were favourable last Sunday afternoon. Astra 28.2E boomed in at 72%. The threshold looks to be about 65% for this receiver before any breakup, but this is only a rough guide. Turksat 42E strong transponders 72%19.2E 72%16E : Not a sausage)13E 71%30W strong transponders 70%There may be other sats but these are the ones I've tried up to now. Blind scan seems to work well. Also had it hooked up to the motorized dish on Usals. ![]() Ok, so when it's throwing it down all fortnight, the reception will probably be abysmal - but then the challenge will be to receive anything at all. Better remember to take the cagoule and sou'ester and wellies |

Not sure. Lend me one and I'll let you know.
Have only tried it in 'fair weather' but I am pleasantly surprised. Also tuned in 1W at the weekend. (BBC World)70%. As far as I'm concerned it's a little FTA toy that does a half decent job on stronger transponders and folds neatly away. Regards, Yorks. |

Its the folds away bit that interests me, easer to stick under the seat or in a cupboard in the caravan than a mindish.
