I can confirm redlight & mtc is working,iv added the new firmware.here is what init.

I've been looking at the Vantage X201S sid. Whats its support like for patches mate. :?

Found a place selling them for €89. I might be doing a setup for a friend down in Paington so i can get to play with one before deciding to replace the Technomate

Hi Nano,i dont have that one Vantage X201S,iv the combo with free view.I would have thought there open the same m8.I have 2 check this out first,i come back on this.All the guys iv seen seem to have gone for the combo that i know.Support has been first class m8 on the combo version.I know i said i would never go cs,but iv had a change of mind.As i have a vantage im going to try soon ish.A friend said he would help me as iv never tryed this.I guess it will take a awhile to get use to this with gold box,& how to set up.With all this from a vantage its got to be the best receiver for its money now.

Hi Nano ask here on that receiver for vantage(dvbcenter)its in the links here.There know whats open in that receiver.The guys here are very helpfull & its in english.I would think the same channels would be open on that one.For patched firmware winup26 is used.For fimware from vantage your need the channel loader to up date

I see that Vantage are bringing out the 7100 HD model in August this year for a price of 499 Euros.

Whilst the blurb looks good, they dont include a detailed specification. Are the other Vantage models open source software controlled or do they rely on Vantage issuing software?

I'm pretty sure it's not open source - patch supply is similar to the Technomates, though I don't know how many people/groups are writing for it. Certainly not many, but maybe more than one. The C/S isn't truly peer to peer if my assessment is correct - there are one or more central servers provided.

These observations are only based on a cursory glance I had a few weeks back.
