Friday night and our Grundig GDS3000 sky digibox has expired. Its been playing up for a few days - losing more and more channels with "no satellite signal" messages.

From the symptoms Id say it was the notorious power supply capacitor problem - its done about 5 years - and satcure reckon about 18 months before you get problems with these.

My orther half told me to put the Dreambox on rather than sit there and look at a blank screen - so Im currently inflicting Albanian TV on her! :spite:

I'll sort something temporary out tomorrow - Im too tired to fight with the rats nest of cables round the back of the telly tonight.

I'm assuming you know how to set the dreambox to use the Sky card AS :?

Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs or anything like that mate, just wondering

Theoretically yes, although it means a major redesign of my cabling runs, which I was sort of hoping to put off until the warm weather - assuming it ever stops bloody raining here!

Im going to slot in the Echostar 3000 with dragon cam tomorrow temporarily and see if I can get it working..

works fine with the Echostar and the sky card in the dragon cam. SWMBO is a happy bunny again
