Default How to recover your TM1000 after a failed update

Right if your reading this you've probably killed your Technomate with a failed update

All is not lost although i cannot guarentee this will work for you, but it did work on my TM1000D Super

Its a similar procedure to how i used to update my old FortecStar Lifetime Classic FTA receiver before the updates dried up for it, i though i'd try it and it seemed to work ok

It will more than likey work with other Technomate models aswell but you will need to download the appropriate firmware and loader from the Technomate Downloads site

This following files are for the 1000D & 1000D+ (Super) receivers only. The procedure should be the same for other models if you use the appropriate STB files

Download the Loader program for TM-1000D-TM-1000D+ and Firmware STB file for TM-1000D-TM-1000D+ from the Technomate website Do not use the firmware for a 1000D/ D+ on any other model it won't work.

Connect your Technomate up as normal to your PC making sure the Technomate is switched off at the back of the receiver. Make sure if you are on a card meter that you have enough leccy to ensure it won't go off half way through the procedure

Install the loader onto your PC.

Please note this loader is only to be used for the Genuine Technomate updates

Unzip the STB firmware file

Start the Technomate loader program. You will notice that it looks nearly the same as the darkman one apart from the key and bin section are missing.

Select the STB file you downloaded from the Technomate website in the Software tab

Now this is the bit where you have to be quick and have 3 pairs of hands

Switch on the receiver and hit the connect button on the loader program at the same time. This should force the receiver to update before it does its POST checks. :?

It has been reported to me that you can just press connect and then switch on the receiver although i have never tried it, I just do it the way i know it works.

Hopefully now you will see the receiver counting up 0 to 100 and installing the new firmware

When its finished the receiver will hopefully have reverted back to standard Technomate specs and will be in working order again. If your brave enough you can then try and install the new patch that replaced the one that bu99ered up the receiver in the first place.

Let us know if this worked for you and bought your receiver back to life.

Just a quickie to say thanks - this was the business!
I thought that I'd lost it when the latest patch failed to complete and the 1000d box went dead. Even start looking on eb&y for a new one.
But this trick worked like a dream. (How the hell did you find that one?)
Switched on with one hand and clicked "connect" simultaneously with the other - easy peasy :roflmao:
All up and running again now and no loss of stored favourites or data.
Downloaded the new patch (good one this time from als*t).

PS I keep previous patches and found I did not need to revert to pukka TM loader and software.
The technique worked just fine with patching loader and a known-good patch.
Mega cheers.

Cheers Nano - work a treat in updating the software on my wonky TM-1000 from version 1.1 to 1.7 (original firmware loaded as its only used on 28E)

More testing required to see if the flash has fixed a software problem or if its a hardware problem but I'll run it for a bit and see what happens.

One point - DO NOT disconnect after the first part - sending the file over, theres a second part - which is erasing the old software!
