Default Hotbird satellite help

I have had a satellite dish installed (80m) and the signal received on the voyager 111 receiver is approx 68%. The number of channels (incl scrambled) that appear on the screen is approx 1172. I am using the hotbird satellite. However I am getting no reception from the first 584 channels approximately - can anyone advise pls??

Transponder details change quite often due to new satellites etc etc. The ones that have no signal could be on old transponders :?

Try doing a blind scan if your receiver supports it It would be a good idea to delete all the channel list before you do a scan

Do the missing channels have anything in common i.e. are they all in the low band, or all one polarisation?

If so, this could be due to a problem with the LNB setup (in the receiver menus) or the LNB itself failing. Just seems an odd number - almost exactly half the channels.

Check the manual for the LNB configuration and if that doesn't shed any light, just replace the LNB - they're cheap enough now.
