Whatsat, is it happening when you just try to select a satellite or is it also happening when you try to move the dish east or west for sat finding.

The first would be a case of the receiver having lost its settings. The second is more serious and means that the motor itself is not working.

Thankyou jimdefruit
for your information
yes when i try to move the dish east or west
it only move's for one second each way

what happened last week
i switched on the receiver and moved the dish with the remote control
from 19east to 1west
but with horror
the dish stoped and the receiver would not stop clicking
i then turned of at the main
and waited a few mins
then switched back on again
i lost all the stations i stored over the arc
now just a blank screen

will now need to replace new
i hope it's the motor, not receiver
but knowing my luck
it could be both
well i close for now
hope to hear from you again
and any other members
thankyou
WhatSat.

Can you please post more details about your motor, it might be as simple as replacing the reed switch, for around £2, equally it might just need taking apart and checking if something has broken, and can be replaced, but to make a more accurate guess we will need to know the make/model.
