go for a 1metre dish if you can as the signal on 16east is quite iffy at times, best check with someone in your area and sat shops you could ask and price up equipment

If you want reliable reception of 16E in the South/South East, I'd go for a 1m dish, or 90cm if you really have to.

You need a good margin of error on 16E - especially with the British 'summer' seemingly here to stay for another few months... >

I am in the South East, Kent. If i was looking at getting the 3pm football would an 80cm dish be sufficient.
Also what is a positioner?

And could someone please clarify that all i need is a Dish, Motor, Receiver and LNB?

Thanks for your help.
Hi m8,Right here we go,for feeds you need a min dish of a meter in size.If you by a smaller dish your not pick feeds up you want. Now if your after football, well as most are lol.A dish with a motor is needed, football can show from many satellites. The fun part is finding what satellite there on.This is what feeds are about,so your need a satellite receiver that blind scans.youv bought a Technomate 9100 receiver,as far as i know its a plie of junk for blind scanning. We all make mistakes but it costs the pocket. The satellite receiver you should have got is a vantage, but never mind here. For feeds football will move from one satellite to another, one day thay might be on 16 east, the nexst day it might be 12 west,or any other satellite.sometimes there in 4.2.2,so a ss2 card is good to add to your setup.

hi satsid
Sorry m8 but your post seem to say you have had bad experiance with technomates. The tm9100 is just like Dream box was when it first came out.It needs best images and updates to get it to its best.

From a tm9100 user.
blind scan receiver's the search is very fast with no hesitation on any transponder if there is nothing there it moves on to the next one unlike some receivers that hang around on a frequency even if there is nothing there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So it seems the tuner is quite good.
So I don`t think the member has wasted his cash.As dreambox was about £300 when it was first released.
All receivers need updating to get the best even vantage was free to air at first. And has had its problems.
We all think what a great recevier untill we get hicups. We all take chances with new updates but thats what this hobby is about.

Hi satsid
Really a receiver has its capabilitys even with out support.I still run a fortecstar diamond combo.Which is brilliant at feed scanning. Not much support for it these days as regards patches but that does not matter it still does a good job.

OK, this has gone pretty O/T now, so I'm going to split it and close it.
