Hi Albert,
Sorry for not getting back to you but I had go overseas to sort some heavy plant out. I see what you guys are saying about the technomate and I think I'll be getting this for christmas - in the mean time the wife has bought me the maplins package as a coming home suprise ![]() I've set it up at the van (took all of 5 minutes!) and its ![]() Much more choice than before and with the dish size picking up Astra2 was easy. For information the dish was a Metronic and the reciever was a metronics touch2. Very sraight forward - free scan works very fast and the menu system is very intuitive on the whole everything I needed originally. Having now got the bug I has asked Mrs Christmas for the technomate so that I can venture in to "patch" land ![]() Thanks again for all your suggestions and assistance much appreciated - time to settle down and read the forumn through and pick up tips and ideas. |

Hi Atom man
May I ask, is mains always available, or do you have to use an inverter? I was just thinking of the risk of killing the van battery with some late night viewing. A battery should not be discharged below 50%, & the average alternator will only charge up to 70/75% of battery capacity. It doesn't leave much margin. Sorry to be the misery, but there ways around it, if you need. Apologies if you know all about this, or it's irelevant. ![]() |
