you'd be best to buy another one and bolt it on yourself

what size does the dish use 18inch actuator ?

Well currently it's a 24" jobbie - don't know why it was so big - but I've ordered an 18" version from Maplin that was shipped today. Probably have to leave it till next week because I had a bit of an accident today and badly cut my finger with some secateurs (you are a plonker elton!).

Let ya know how I get on.

Cheers

Ouch. Hope it's a speedy recovery.

Finger repaired and new actuator fitted - yep, it worked But, and there had to be a but, while setting East West limits I've damaged the polar mount!!!! What an idiot I hear you say - and you'd be right! Problem arose because there are 2 different places within the Echostar software for setting the limits. Did the first, then when I went to program the satellites the dish (which was already at its West limit) would not respond and kept prompting for new limits. So forgetting I was already at West, we went even further West and ..... Oops. So spent most of the afternoon trying to make amends. Have lost the lower pivot bush - God knows where that flew off to, so had to fabricate another. Not very good in plastic but it will have to do for the time being. Reset the limits, now I just have to find the satellites. But not today because I have to go to work. Wednesday looks promising so far.

Default Re: Discussion split from the 'Pictures of members dish' thread and moved

Got it together but have hit other problems that I've started a thread on:

So if there's any ideas guys - gratefully received. I'm at my wits end.
