Dunno about a walkthrough, but you could try ripping the Elecard codec/filters out of ProgDVB or somewhere else and chucking them in. That's what I had to do to get rid of a similar problem under XP.

I have been looking for a setup guide for alt dvb.But not found any.Also I never was able to get it to run correctly.
Dvbdream I found was not to bad on cpu if you are not connected to internet.And run minimal programs.It seems once a channal clears the cpu usage drops.
Also the plugins folder is very handy in program list.

in the altdvb folder there is a file called register.bat just run that and all should be well rd100

how do i install that h.264 codec what files go where on dvbdream,

F**king vista is a pain it uses about 1 gig of ram just to run so today i brought another 1 gig of ram and i also now need a new graphics card card as there are no vista drivers for me card and i only brought the vard about 6 months ago > and ati do not support it any more :?.

I have a legit copy that I have installed on my XP hard drive but the guys at Corecodec wont allow me to have it also on my Vista hard drive. So guess what? I am glad you went for a hand of whist Stick.

As an experiment, I have just tried DvbDream again and remember why I dont like it. It took over 20 minutes to scan astra 2 sat and then uses so much cpu when I run it that its not much use.

Altdvb scans in a couple of minutes from an up to date transponder list that it downloads from the web and it runs with much less cpu use.

rd100, if I were you, I would try altdvb for BBC HD because it runs reasonably well on my 3200+ cpu.

Found it and clicked on it and it just gives a message The module dvbabsrc.ax was loaded but the call to dllregister failed,

I've not installed Vista yet, and this is why. What a crock.
