i now have 1.5 gig of ram and i think i could do awith a bit more, To run vista very good you would need i say a amd 4000+ 4 gig of ram and and a ati 512mb x1800 card

get that crock of poo uninstalled m8 and get xp or even Ubuntu Feisty Fawn installed. Won't be going the Vista way until about the 5th service pack has been released

Help me guys ! I have an Acer 5633 with Vista and 1Gb ram. I have brought a skystar USB plus. 3 progs so far cause the laptop to crash, any ideas ? I have the BDA driver installed. I tried the beta but I just get a message saying I have the correct driver installed already ???

Can't really help on this one m8 and welcome to the forum btw. I don't and won't have Vista installed as all I hear is nightmare stories about it. If you let us know which programs you have used one of the other chaps may be able to help you.

rd100, i'm trying to get my skystar2 that i just got to work on vista and been having a nightmare all night once i had got the card installed with the right drivers.
at one point i thought the card had died. its getting a program to work to view the channels i had got dvbdream on but that started to play up saying no signal on a channel scan and it not liking the video codecs alt dvb i cant install as it asks to register, which i dont know what its going on about "Loading resources Checking source filter DvbAvSrc: Unsupported version (2.0) Please re-register [ DvbAvSrc.ax ]" progdvb i have kind of working with vplug 1.9.0 but that is not working correctly either as you cant select any of the audio tracks and it slow at loading channels up tempted to format and install xp again

Double click the batch file in the Altdvb\filters folder to register the .ax files in windows.

OK, cracked it. Got AltDVB running on Vista AND vPlug running too
 Time for bed. Will share my tips tomorrow. Haven't done much in the way of stability testing yet, but been running OK for ten minutes now.

the tm9100 isn't as hard to get that to work

I am struggling to run altdvb on Vista even when I run as administrator. Nothing happens at all. Dvbdream is working fine though.
