one quick other question i have,

i have a spare sky digital dish lying around is there any use for it before i buy any stuff. I was thinking if i put it up near my main dish at different degrees i could test it out that way. would that work?

i am also going to take a few pics of the way my roof is to give a clear picture of what my possibilities be.

Yes a sky digi minidish will be fine for experimenting with. You should get signals from 13E 19E 5W some from 5E, 7E 30W etc.

It's only low voltage, and won't do you any harm. It does make your fingers tingle for a while though!
