can anyone help me with set up.. i bought this portable dish for camping.getting "no signal" all the time.i have it set ( maybe not) on astra 28.2E.. signal int shows 35% signal quality 11%... where do i start to look at what i,m doing wrong !!

Hello m8. Welcome to the forum.
Alignment is everything. Try this tool to get you in the right ballpark, and then just make tiny adjustments and then pause for three of four seconds (it takes that long for the picture to appear with digital) each time. http://www.ses-astra.com/consumer/az...p?locale=en_GB A cheap alignment/strength meter might make it easier, and a compass wouldn't go amiss either. You will need your Lat and Long, and these can be obtained from Streetmap.co.uk or Google Earth for example. There are loads of satellites up there, so make sure you get the one you're after. Another tip is to look where the sky dishes are pointing in your area and aim it in the same direction and same inclination angle.
Put your receiver on BBC1 and move it around as BGonaSTICK says - making tiny adjustments, until you get a picture/signal. |
