Having not long reinstalled a new activator to get the system up and running my receiver decided to do a dump on me and 'lost' most of the channels. Very strange. Tried to search for new channels on each satellite in turn only to be infoirmed no new channels available.
Clutching at straws I decided to do a factory reset and reprogram the system from scratch. Set new east/west limits, found Hotbird, Thor and Hispasat as my prime sats at east south and west and the receiver went off and 'found' and searched for the other satellites and channels. Okay thus far, except many of the satellites no longer appear to exist. Okay then, lets add some new satellites to the lineup as per the User Manual and go from there. Fairly straightforward instructions as follows: 1. On the RCU press: a. the OK key b. Select Mode = TV c. Select List = All Channels d. Select Group = None e. Select Sort = None f. Select Edit = Add SAT The problem is that Add SAT is not an option! > ![]() Anyone have any idea about this. The User Manual offers no assistance at all and I'm getting rather frustrated.

![]() Thought I might have been on it when I came across the Autosat setting - ah ha, I thought no wonder I cannot add another satellite - change it to Manual and I'm in with a chance - but No! Bu99er!!!! ![]()

Try adding a satellite via the tools menu.
Click on Menu, click on the hammer symbol, and then the first dish symbol. Scroll down to set limit and programme satellites, then click OK on SAT, and scroll to S00, this might be a way of adding a satellite. Please post back with the results. |

Okay, had some time that I didn't expect so had a go.
![]() Set up new satellite - Badr 4 @ 26o East and set TP for Bahrain 55 (12226 V 27500) but couldn't find the channel. Perhaps the trees are coming into play so set up another Nilesat 101 @ 7o East, TP for Bahrain TV again 11823 V 27500 and sod all once again. Unable to find any network within the area. Hotbird, Thor and Hispasat come in clear so my arc must be pretty close. I just don't get it. :? Thanks anyway for the advice - I'm closer, but not as close as I'd like to be. :

What size dish are you using and what is your general location, e.g. north east. For 26E try TV5 11747 V 27500, and for 7E try TJK TV 11596 H 30000.

Tried both suggestions but no joy - cannot even get any network signal at either location
If 26o is fouled I can accept that as the trees may be coming into play - but Astra @ 19.2o is okay and I go as far as Intelsat 3r @43o West which is okay with a clear line of sight so my arc is good - but there are so many sats that I cannot get a signal it's a right bu99er!. There's something fundamentally wrong here and I cannot put my finger on it. ![]()

What sort of strength and quality readings are you getting for those that do scan OK?

I'm not sure how to define quality other than the channels are clear with no pixelation or sparkles. The receiver does not have a quality level as such.
Strength wise, the receiver is giving the following readings Astra 94% Hotbird 85% Thor 83% Hispasat 83% Intelsat 3R 83% So strength would appear okay.
