Default Zattoo TV to offer over 60 online channels

Zattoo TV has unveiled a new peer-to-peer IPTV service that makes live, quick-start, long-play Internet television a reality for broadband users, broadcasters, content owners and advertisers.

The first Zattoo P2P IPTV broadcasts began in Switzerland with the 2006 football world championship streamed live to Swiss viewers. Now, Zattoo TV offers over 40 online channels, including the main Swiss public broadcasters, all Spanish national channels, both commercial and public, the German RTL channels and international news services CNN, BBC World, Euronews and Al Jazeera. French public broadcasters, the three national RAI stations and Mediaset channels from Italy, Deutsche Welle TV and ORF from Austria are also available.

Zattoo is built around a peer-to-peer streaming platform developed by leading technologists at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). It is based in San Francisco and maintains an office in Ann Arbor as well as in Zurich, Switzerland. By constantly adding channels, which are all subject to geoblocking, the number should grow to well over 60 in the near future.

It would be interesting if these streams could be re-sampled and re-streamed via a Slingbox for example to get around the geoblocking. Many proxies are just not fast enough to handle IPTV effectively in the tests that I've tried.
