I find that calling them around 18:00 works, because everyone is travelling home from work around then

Midnight.
Seriously now, no joke! If you call at midnight, I find that the team that are on are seriously far more helpful than the daytime team, probably because they are bored out of their minds with the small volume of calls that they have. I called during the day and after waiting for 20 Minutes on hold, I was put through to an indian man who was more than unhelpful, and wouldn't actually engage in conversation, just read from a computer screen. Called back at midnight, got put through to someone almost instantly who knew what they were talking about for once.

I agree with Gav. Call as late as you can. Customer Service is a joke especially if you are talking about their internet service
