sounds like a 80 or 90cm dish with a quattro lnb on it which you will need to change before you can use the dish

the quattro lnb was used to feed some multiswitches so all the residents could receive satellite tv in the flats you got it from

a cheap but good lnb like inverto or smart titanium will be a good choice to replace it with

no, i'd suggest buying a new lnb you will need a 40mm one if the dish is the round type and not a minidish size

lnbs are cheap around a tenner for a smart titanium off that auction site

Make sure is A universal LNB and not one for a sky dish. And a good quality cable, RG6 is the minimum you should use.

Examples on ebay are

260132375351

280129644347

If you want to run more than one receiver or use SKY plus you will need a twin or quad Universal LNB

330143054904

230146768593

You could also try the following web sites.

RG6 is a low-cost option, but its aluminium (or aluminium coated plastic film) screen is just not as good as copper.

Sure, it'll work, but you'll get significantly more signal loss - made worse by longer cable runs - and a higher possibility of interference.

It's really worth paying the extra for copper - CT100/H109F/WC100 is the minimum spec. I would recommend.

Thats why I said RG6 should be the minimum you should use. I always use H109F

I would never use RG6 either.
