Hi again guys
& thanks for your help & advice so far, it's all helping me build a picture of what i want. My introduction to satellite (other than Sky) has been one o the mobile satellites fom Aldi, i have to say i'm surprised at what i can pick up with such a small dish. I had thought about getting a motorised dish installed, but at present, i can live without the expense involved. I am mainly after football (with or without English commentary), ideally films (in english) & mabe some of the more colourful stuff ![]() Would i be able to fulfill some of these requirements via 19 East & 13 East? Even with my Aldi 40cm dish, i'm picking up a decent signal for Polsat Sport, Premiere etc.. If these 2 satellites, would fulfill my requirements, am i correct in saying i could mount a fixed dish with a monoblock (think that's right), would this allow me to keep my Sky & receive 19 & 13 East, without having to move my dish? I've taken a shine to this dish, can anyone shed any light if it's any use or not? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fracarro-Penta...QQcmdZViewItem & a technomate receiver, probably TM1500ci Super, or is there any benefit or disadvantage to the TM1600? Would this help me achieve what i want to, short term, before i dabble any further? I do hope this all makes sense ![]() Thanks in anticipation, and i await your replies Cheers Enc Blue |

You may be OK for the footy - but only really if the likes of Premier (19E) or TPS (13E) are still open.
The most popular way of viewing PL soccer (I take it that's what you're after) looks like being via a DigitAlb card on 16E (around £150 for the sports or £200 for the full package including movies). A monoblock would be fine for 19E & 13E but if you want 16E as well you would need a multi-LNB bracket and some skinny Alps LNB's (normal LNB's are to fat : ).Don't know if that shape of dish is any good for multi-LNB/motorised :? You'll have to ask one of the experts ![]() I would stick with the TM1500 STB, the 1600 has two CI slots but no card reader (although you can buy one separate) and always seems to lag behind the 1500 in terms of support. Thanks for your reply Ok, here's what i'm thinking I'm assuming i could have a fixed dish (Doesn't matter what make of dish to be honest) with 4 LNB's?, which would allow me to simultaneously receive 28, 19, 16 & 13 East, is that possible? If so would i be able to have 1 x twin LNB (for my Sky HD) & 3 single LNB's for 13,16 & 19 East? (By getting 13,16 & 19, that would cover my bases for footie & films etc.. either buy buying a card or patching, is that right?) Out of interest, rather than fit a new dish, could i fit a multi LNB brack to a Zone 2 Sky Minidish & use that? Assuming that is the case, how do i connect 3 feeds into a Technomate TM1500 Super, is there some kind of connection/adapter i'd need for that? (Pictures of what i need would be good) And if i bought a DigitalAlb subscription card, would that just slot into the Technomate card reader? Thanks for your patience guys, i want to get this right ! what you need is something like a triax 90cm dish with the multi lnb adapter and 3 alps lnbs because these can fit close together for 13,16, 19 east and yes use a quad lnb for sky at 28east because its 9 degrees away from the nearest lnb
then all those lnbs feed into a 4 way diseqc switch meaning only 1 cable to the receiver once setup it will look similar to the below pic

Thanks for your reply Ok, more silly questions from me 1. The Multi LNB, i take it i could run the 2 feeds from that straight to my Sky box? 2. The 3 other LNB's, i assume i would use a 3 discqc swith for those, to run 1 feed to a technomate? Is the disqc switch mounted inside the house, or on the dish? Does anyone have any opinions on one of these dishes? (The Force Frontier 55cm Dish) http://www.creativesatellite.co.uk/i...arget=d19.html Would this fulfill my requirements & help me to minimise my dish size at the same time? |

Either wod's suggestion or the Force dish would be ideal.
The twin LNB outputs both to the Sky box and the other three via a 4-way DiSEqC switch to the Techno.

Jump in here with the damp cloth a minute, but I feel the 55cm force a bit small for 16E inc rain fade.
Just fleabayed for a 90 ( been loads on the past few months) but nowt there. L. ![]() |

Thaks guys,
I had a suspicion, the 55cm, might be on the small side I'm trying to keep my dish size as small as possible, for cosmetic reasons, anyone know what the smallest size of dish i'd get away with for the 4 satellites i want to pick up (I'm in the Glasgow area) & any particular make of dish i'd need for the multi bracket LNB holder? |

Probably the best bet is Wod's suggested TD88; for multi-LNBs another superlative dish is the Raven 90cm (I have done 1w-28e on that) but I suspect that cosmetically from the OP's viewpoint it will not be any better than the TD88.
Smaller alternatives are the TD78 or the Raven 70 but they might struggle with DigitAlb specifically.
