The German ProSiebenSat.1 group will buy regional commercial broadcaster Puls TV in Vienna. The channel broadcasts 24 hours a day with regional programming and hopes to extend its transmissions to DTH satellite as well as acquire a license to broadcast on DTT. At the moment Puls TV is only available on cable.
The acquisition will be subject to regulatory approval; the station is currently privately held and no details have been issued about the value of the transaction. As a producer, Puls TV is already active for the Austrian version of ProSieben and Kabel 1 providing them with programmes such as “ProSieben AustriaNews”, “Tonight tv”, “Austria TopTalk” and the daily breakfast show “Café Puls”.
