Hi DJB55,
Are you trying to patch your box? If so you need to choose the 'Download' option on the Darkman Loader. The Upload option is to backup your receiver settings, or keys. Look at Nanochickin's reply here. Obviously there is now a later patch than the one he refers to but the procedure is the same http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...ic,4700.0.html Yorks. |

Strange one. :?
The box and pc are obviously communicating for the pc to be reporting the box's software version. A couple of things worth trying (if you haven't already) 1. Try altering Coms port on Laptop and Loader to a different position. ie. Coms 1. 2. Try loading sofware from a pc with an installed serial port, to eliminate USB/serial convertor problem. Yorks ![]() |

Yep
it's rather annoying that the serial port has become obsolete. But I had a similar problem with a Tevion receiver. It communicated with the pc. The pc detected the serial port (passed ok) and initialised download, but failed immediately. I use the same port all the time for my TM1500 - without any problems. As soon as I plugged the null modem c@ble into my desktop's serial port and tried it, the Tevion updated. :? So in some cases the USB/serial convertor is not a seamless interface.Yorks. |

I think its a common problem depending on what USB to serial converter you have. I couldn't get my old TM1000D (The one my mate permenantly borrowed ) to update the softcam with a HP DV6000 Laptop using one of the afore mentioned cables.
![]() Connected it to the serial port on my Dell Dimention and it updated no probs ![]() ![]() Nano

Yes, it's a fact - USB to serial converters only work using this type of application in maybe 50% of cases.

Hopefully it will bring you a lot of enjoyment. The forum-scene is a big part of owning a patched receiver, and you can have plenty of laughs online as well.
