Default 2 lnb's on one dish

I am not a total newby but thought that this question probably deserves to be asked in this newby section.
I often see dishes with two or more LNB's on the same dish. How does this work. Although the dish appears to be fixed do the different LNB's focus on different satelites.
Just a simple explanation would help
thanks

OK, simple answer : Yes, the two LNB's focus on different satellites, and yes the dish will be fixed
