Yes it is, although you won't get quite as much out of it as with a B1. Please go to the comag sl65 forums at satboard.uk.to where you will find a sticky with instructions on how to do it, plus the necessary files.

I installed one of the Aldi Tevion caravan sets, but used the old analogue Sly dish, changed the LNB to the one which came with the Mickey Mouse dish that came with the system and realigned the dish to Astra 2. The system was a holiday home, not mine, I was only doing the set up for the owner. I was wondering if you would know which box it would be, it is most defiantly 12V, because it comes with a step-down transformer? I would like to be able to update the box from the man if there is an update for it, so your help would be very much appreciated and welcome. I have told the owner of the house that I will motorise the dish for him and that If he allows that he will be able to pick up much more stuff and that I should be able to update the box and that he might be able to get even more if I can get the update. Very best regards Wez

Hi Wez
Depending on when the box was bought, it could be a B1 chip or an E1 - the latter being the most recent. If you go to the forums at satboard.uk.to you will find a dedicated section for Tevions, and much of relevance in the Comag SL65 section (including a sticky on identifying the chip). If it's a B1 you can probably get away with Truman or Smart firmware updates, the latter being better for motorised setups. The main problem I forsee is that this patching lark requires a lot of maintenance - usually weekly upgrades to the firmware in order to stay in step with the service providers' changes to the encryption. If the owner is up to that, then fine. If not, you could have him on the blower to you a bit often. Good luck Sol |

Hi,
How to create a new file with new provider (7311 - Amazonas 61W) to patch a receiver (firm SL65A.bin) with "KeyUpdater_04Sep2006.exe"? Thanks in advance! |
