converting a .ts file to a vcd Linux HOW TO

ok guys this tool some digging so may be of use to some one

you will need mencoder, vcd imager and cdrdao installed

first copy your ts file to your hdd then run this funky command

$ mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=xvcd -vf scale=352:288,harddup -srate 44100 -af lavcresample=44100 -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg1video:keyint=15:vrc_buf_size=327:vrc_m inrate=1152:vbitrate=1152:vrc_maxrate=1152:acodec= mp2:abitrate=224 -ofps 25 -o output-file.mpg input-file.ts

changing the names of the output and input files to suit


then vcdimager output-file.mpg

you will get 2 files video.bin and video.cue

put a blank cd in your drive and run

cdrdao write --device ATA:1,1,0 videocd.cue

changing the device name if needed

there you have it a video cd from a ts in a few mins

forgot to say the same method should work with avi files to mpg but not tried it

my next task is dvd standard from the command line but going for an operation tomorrow so it will have to wait

i put this method on a l s a t as well the next ones will just be for satellite help
