Default Patchable receiver

Well I cant find anything regarding patching for my metronic receiver so I will have to be happy with the free channels for now.

Can you lot recommend a good receiver to get in the near future that is easy to patch and has reliable patches that goes for a reasonable amount? well as cheap as possable if I'm honest

The best value patchable receiver has to be the Technomate 1*** series. The FTA version probably costs around £60, while the 1500 is around £90 (built in card reader and CI).

Great support, good track record, surprisingly easy to patch and very popular.

There are others, but for value I don't think you can beat the TM

You could always try one of the board sponsors, not sure which TM's they sell but I'm off to bed now so can't be arsed checking

Or there's ebay if you find someone with good enough feedback :?

Thanks

Satcure seams the best bet £59

Bit confused though do I need a CI or card reader? isn't that why you patch, to get round not having a card :?

Got my new one to replace the one my mate permenantly borrowed off ebay. Just under £52 inc. P & P

ebay item number 220128579068. You can try Systemsat direct on ebay. I've had loads of stuff of them with very few problems at all. When a problem does arrise they usually sort it out very quickly indeed

If this has been edited tomorrow you'll know my new wall mount hasn't arrived as promised

I've had 5 dishes from them now and they have all arrived dink free 8)

Unless you intend to get a subscription card you won't need the receiver with a CI or card slot. The FTA 1000D Super will do the trick

TM1000D Super is what i have, good for blind scan, no ci or card slot, totally FTA

TMS1000 roughly the same apart from its got a supposedly more sensitive tuner although it does have a firmware glitch the same as the TMS1500 that makes it extremely slow to blind scan (My old TMS1500 CI+ used to take 15hrs to blind scan 16e ) Dont know if this has been fixed in the 2007 versions :?

TM-1000D+, being the same as the TM-1000D model with the addition of a built-in Smart Card Reader

TM1000 CI+ being the same as the TM-1000D model with the addition of a built-in CI Slot

If you can go for either the CI+ or the D+ it will at least extend the useful life of the receiver if the patches dry up for any reason as you can use either a Sub card or a Cam like the T-Rex or what ever comes out next
