Slight digression: as the OP may also need a dish, it may be a good idea to pop into Lidl for the 80cm dish at £15 and the Universal LNB at £3.
However, the mount sold separately for about £3 may not be up to the job; so maybe buy the mount elsewhere.

I think that the vast majority of 'knackered' Dreamboxes (and 9100's - there must be a few by now!) are actually fine - especially the 7020 with it's dual-boot protection. Some frustrated owners just don't get the support they need and just eBay them as 'not-working'.

Thanks for the help guys
I think i will stick with the TM 1500CI+ as i am not very clued up on Linux. Thanks bigtee for the heads up on the dish at Lidl. Sounds like it is worth a punt at that price. One quick questuin. The sky satellite dish i have has an LNB in it. Could i use that one or should i buy another one? |

Sky LNBs are not really suitable for non-Sky dishes - they are specifically designed with skew built-in for 28.2E and only illuminate a small area of any dish larger than a minidish. The fitting's all wrong too.
Pick up a Lidl LNB while you're getting your dish. Only £4. Pick up some fruit juice and chocolate too while you're at it. Everything else they sell is rubbish ![]()

Sounds like Lidl is the way to go. I agree with you completly BGonaSTICK on the chocolate and fruit juice. I do like thier mozzerella though.
With the LNB what is the difference between 0.2/0.4/0.6? Probably an silly question but I don't have a clue |

But why change dish? You can continue to use it with Astra 28.2 - most of UK channels are there unless I am wrong. This is how I set up my system - sky minidish for UK channels and 80cm dish for Hotbird.

The Sky dish will do everything at 28.2E and will be just fine for an initial play.
It will even do OK on Astra1 @ 19.2E, Hotbird @ 13E and Hispasat @ 30W if you can skew either the LNB or indeed the whole dish enough. If and when you're ready to take things a little further (and I hope you do...) then the Lidl dish and LNB are a good cheap way to take the next step. If you see them in Lidl at these prices, chuck one in your trolley. They are well worth the money, but buy a proper mount from somewhere else. STICK
