Default Portsmouth FC up with IMG Media

Portsmouth Football Club appointed IMG Media as its exclusive worldwide production and distribution partner for all its media content and rights.

The three-year deal includes developing and producing a weekly three-hour programme of action, news and features on the Club, to be distributed globally from the beginning of the new Premier League season.

IMG Media will also distribute all future match broadcast rights outside of the Premier League including pre-season games, charity matches and European competitions, as well as mobile and broadband rights.

In addition, IMG Media has designed and built the Club's Online TV channel - PfcTV - which launched last week and includes interviews and highlights from all games as well as live radio.

The content for the programming block and the broadband channel will be produced by IMG Media and its production partner, Preston-based ADI

Portsmouth's Chief Operating Officer Bruce Vandenberg said: "It is essential for us to drive our media strategy forward so we can realise the huge potential we have identified to market the Portsmouth Football Club brand on a global scale, and we see this deal as the best way to make that happen."

Ben Nicholas, IMG Media's Senior Vice President, UK Media Sales, said: "We are delighted to be working with Portsmouth FC across all media - TV, online and mobile, both in the UK and around the world. They are a club with a great future who we hope will grow its fan base and take advantage of these new routes to the global market."
