This looks really interesting. Even Dr Dish like it!
Due to be released into the wild next month. I've shoved this description through an online translator, and then tried to patch up the result manually, so it could be a load of old tosh! Quote:

€479 from several German stores, though I expect they are still pre-orders...

Vantage VT 7100 HD is available now. A full review is available on a German site, AreaDVD (in German of course!) with pictures of menus.
Vantage VT 6000 HD is the economy version for around £200 and available January 2008. The front display on the receiver is numeric rather than a dot matrix. The sata and Lan connectors are ommited. The blind scan function appears to be one of those sloooow software ones. Those needing a fast blind scan would probably need to patiently wait for something else |

so the blind scan of the hd receivers isn't as good as the vantage receivers out now as the channel scanning on my vantage x221tsci is very quick

One user of the new receiver has reported that it takes hours to scan a satellite. If you need a fast blind scan it needs to be a hardware blind scan. i have 2 blind scan receivers: an early TM1500 with software blind scan and a Manhattan Plaza ST100 with hardware blind scan. The difference in usability is like night & day. |

i have just watched the review on the latest dr dish magazine and it seems very nice receiver.
On the blind scan it is only a software blind scan so can only do 3 or 4mhz step scanning which might disappoint some people. If you want blind scan with 1mhz steps to use an sd vantage like the x221s as this is hardware based and very quick. overall it was very good and got the dr dish recommendation.
