-sighs-
My 80CM dish & SkyStar 2 card are sat in a box, sad and lonely. I took down good ol' 80 because my wall mount didn't look to healthy in the heavy rain and wind we've been having. So I'm going to do the following: - Get some decent T&Ks put up. - Motorise the 80cm dish. - Hook the motorised dish up to my SkyStar2 card. I'm then going to (no, really ):- Buy a 90CM Toroidal dish. - Buy 16LNBs - Become an evil genius and hook up a 16 way switch/daisy chain a load together. - Buy a Technomate TM 9100 (But not from whichever Bristol company I was going to use last time, they were pretty annoyed when I reserved one and never turned up to pick it up :|) So anyway, I digress. Having rarely used an actual satellite receiver before (only used SkyStar2 card - briefly!), I was wondering - what are the EPGs like, or are TV listings totally non-existant? I mean, can I have an EPG similar to Sky, with all the channels from all 16 Satellites shown together, with at the very least, now and next details? If so, would this be an internet thing or over the air or a combination of the two? Thank youuu Gav.... ![]()

No - EPGs are usually just now and next - but some are 7 days, like Premiere for example. Internet plugins promise a lot but deliver only disappointment.
Quite a few channels don't have any program information at all. _http://www.ultimatetvguide.com carries quite a bit of info for adult and Pay Per View stuff, and most large packages have decent websites with up-to-date TV listings.

Thats about the gist of it
Its more than likely the EPG could be part of a data stream that a specifically designed receiver interprets seperately before displaying with the epg on screen. My dreambox often tells me its downloading an EPG data stream if it finds one it can interpret ![]() ![]() Nano

As I said, most have now & next, and as Nano says, some have proprietary EPG streams, like BSkyB for example.
