thinking of trying to see if i can ground mount this andrews dish i have. there's a spot in the garden behind the shed where i think one can go but not sure if it will work as i have drawn a little diagram
from the diagram there is a garage in front but the dish would clear it on about 1.9metre pole and think i could get 28e to about 5 or 8west maybe even more but not more than 12 west over the garage is a row of terrace houses which are approx about 15metre way from the wall at the end of my garden could be more, would them affect this ? would this work as how can i test this before buying one of those ground stands to try out as they are quite expensive will try and get some pics of the area i hope to use wod

Whenever I've been in this will it/won't it type situation, I've made a viewing guide from a triangle of cardboard, cut to match the elevation angle of the satellite in question, and taped it to a spirit level.
With your azimuth calculated, you can then hold it to you eye and look along the top line of the template to check your LOS.
