Just having bought another channel master dish, It came with a feed horn, but has a cover on the edge.

Is there a difference between the two pictured?

The numbers are the same.

What is the advantage or disadvantage of the the plastic cover?

The cover is only something to keep the rain and creepy crawlies out so the shape is immaterial. Most of the ones on feed horns seem to be flat.

Yes hopefully, but it is more likely to give somewhere for the spiders to hang out
