Default Motorised

I plan to put my first motorised system together within the coming weeks. Now as a beginner i'm keeping it to a tight(ish) budget.

65cm Fortec Star Dish @ £29.99

DiSEqC 1.2/USALS Dish Motor @ £49.99

It says 'Compatible with all Fortec Star satellite receivers' but would it work with my Aldi Tevion FTA box? As this supports DiSEqC 1.2 and USALS

45cm Cranked Bracket @ £14.99

Would a dish motor attach to this?

Thanks.

the kit looks ok apart from the wall mount, as you will have abit of trouble to get it level and it wont hold up too well in windy weather a set of 12inch t&K brackets will be around 15

also the dish you can get a triax 64cm dish for around 30 pound too

What do T&K Brackets look like?

Is a ~65cm dish big enough to put to use with a motor?

Maplin claim 80cm is the best for minimum size.

80cm triax dish would be a good choice, depends on what channels you want to receiver as 80cm enough for 13,19, 28, 5w, 30w etc

I can recommend the fortec Star dish, but if you can go for the 95cm version. They also come with a pretty robust wall/floor mount so you might not need a separate mount depending where you are mounting the dish.

The motor you have pictured is not a DiSEqC motor.

What is it?

As maplin picture that as a diseqc/usals motor.

Ah, yes. Good spot wod. Maybe it is DiSEqC.

Looking quickly, I thought it was the Jaeger SG99 but it isn't - although it surely has to be based on it.

Apologies to jay112!

Strangely, Maplins have two listed :?

This one at £49.99:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=14&doy=search

and this one at £59.99!

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=14&doy=search

Are they the same?!?!

One mentions it supports usals whereas the other doesn't.

I felt the weight of the £49.99 one in Maplin and it felt very heavy, good sign?
