I have found else where some info indicating that any un official patches can only be uploaded using a jtag c@ble. I do not know what one of these is and found no mention of one in the patching guide on here. Does anybody have an idea where I may be going wrong, or have you experienced similar problems?
Cheers, sat bodger
You have a null modum proplem.
There are verious null modums, you should use atleast a Null modem with partial handshaking.
Nock up "Null modum" in Goole and find what you do need.
Best.

No worries. Was that the USB==>Serial connector you bought?

Sorry for the late reply, ZP43W for USB<->RS232 is the convertor I bought. The other code(L71BT) is the cable which is a very handy 3metres or 10 feet in length,so the box can stay under the telly while i stay comfy on the sofa with the laptop.
