Default NDS Standard IRD analog audio only problem

I have like a audio skipping problem , like a CD skipping from all 4 analog channels of the NDS Alteia professional receiver circa 1999. The video is unaffected , it is only in the analog audio I have this problem..
The downlink signal is using a tiernan tandberg 4 2 2 encoding stream. Another receiver that is Tandberg which is a almost identical to the Alteia receiver dosen`t have the skipping audio problem so I concluded it wasn`t a feed source issue but a problem with my alteia IRD or menu setting.
Is anyone familiar with the NDS standard Alteia M2/PSR/942 receiver that could point me in the right area of the menu or does it need a software upgrade which was also suggested .
I already tried the menu 13 setting and set the rate buffer to small but that didn`t help me and it still does the like CD skipping problem. The only difference is the Tandberg is model M2/PSR/942C and the other is M2/PSR/942 with no C on the end but obviously there is still differences on how the audio is decoded from the Tandberg and Alteia.

Thanks

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

Where are you and which channels/frequency/satellite are you talking about?

I don't know of any 4:2:2 NDS encrypted analogue transmissions :?

Is it encrypted?

I`m in Canada and these are non encrypted C-band transmissions on AMC 3 bird., free in the clear NTSC
vertical polarity with the following by the TV uplink mobile ;
3771mhz. downlink
Encoder Used : Tiernan/Tandberg 4:2:2.
My Video is good , its just the audio that has this problem of like a skipping CD. Power cycling my IRD fixes it for less than minute but it always returns again.
Looks like a software patch is needed according to customer support...
.

Sorry m8, I know very little about C-band stuff. There's not really enough of it in Europe to justify buying all the extra hardware

Have confirmed the problem with others .Because under certain transport streams the encoder in the Alteia has a problem servicing interrupts and this results in chopping / break-up / glitting the audio like a CD skipping audio effect.
Tandberg encoders such as when using to uplink NTSC material and audio send out a sequence of audio frames with each PES header. The Alteia will see one PTS for many audio frames of the Tandberg. The Alteia will then have a problem if there are less than say 3 audio frames per PTS. This it is receiving effectively receiving PTS at a far higher rate than the Tandberg stream. The extra PTS is likely causing a double interrupt in the audio processing routines in the Alteia . The fix is software upgrade the Alteia IRD not a easy process to something on V2.8 as apparently it was released in 2001 and was addressing this problem of this Tandberg encoding.
