Default Gearbox problems

Well When I went to get my bargin 1.1m sat dish from Evesham yesterday for £14.40, on the way home the gearbox in my 405 died suddenly without any warning. I have managed to get a replacement for £94 from a place in Nottingham, went to collect it today turned out to be from a 306, but I was assured it would fit and be fine :? some people I have spoken to say yes some say no so I have my fingers and everything else crossed. The local garage will be reliving me of £350 to fit it and a new clutch. Clutch kit is £120, unless I get a cheep kit that could cause problems, and as the car is used for towing I don't really want that. To add insult to injury he cant fit me in till the 21st and when at the place in Nottingham I managed to briefly kiss the nice shiny red bumper of my wife's car with ther nice shiny green fence ops: with her in the car oh by the way she is a driving instructor :'( So when We got home I spent a hour pollashing it out and touching up the scratch. This was after cleaning out the filter in the garden pond that had started to overflow while we were out :mega: I think I will go to bed now with half a dozen tranquilisers and a bottle of vodka.

One good thing did happen today, one of our horrible neighbours had her car clamped because it wasn't taxed

Thanks for the offer but I will only just be able to get to the local place, and that will be on a wing and a prayer :

I think the new gearbox will be fine, because you've already had 3 bits of bad luck!

Depression is all in the mind.

When I get depressed, I buy a new car. Or a bigger dish

I find the forum is a great place to get away from reality and have a laugh
