SkyStar 2 has most support, SkyStar 2 can also do most things apart from the new-er HD broadcasts. SkyStar HDs support is rising, but the SS2 can be had for around £30, so its probably best just to get it and wait for decent support for the SkyStar HD.

Also, AFAIK SSHD support under linux is non-existant.

Also, consider that you need a high end PC for the HD card - sure I read that something like a 3.4Ghz Pentium 4 would be a minimum requirement

Elecard decoder (for viewing 4:2.2 feeds), the latest release of V plug and a Dvb viewer, something like AltDvb or ProgDvb.

The Dvb viewer that comes with it ain't really up to much, especially when it comes to opening stuff up :spite:

The elecard decoder is for 4:2:2 transmissions which is more or less HD you can download a trial of it when you download Progdvb but it costs $40 I think after the trial has finished

That pc spec should get you the BBC HD channel ok if you are using windoze XP. The Altdvb prog works very well with the SS2 card but you will need to download the H264 codec. Elecard or Coreavc seem to be the best IMHO.
