Hello this forum helped me get my system set up so i figured id actually start posting now i can actually watch somthng for more than 5 minutes without having to spend an hour realining the dish my system is an amstrad srx200 gained from a skip outside my local tv shop after the floods a sky dogibox(in the shed it can get ****** for all i care) and a sky minidish pointed to 19.2 surprisingly the 17m tree blocking the sky signal dosent seem to be affecting the analogue stuff(the digi stuff from 19.2 also seems buggered aswell) my conclusions from this are DIGITAL=SHI*E any way my thanks go to
the various members of this forum for posting answers to other peoples questions of which i gained much imformation from
and analoguesats website for its guide on getting universial lnbs to work with really old boxes

it does actually say in my first post but heres a bit more detail

1: the dish is a thomson sky mini dish taken off the side of a freinds house

2 the dish mount is a sawn off end of a hoe which is held onto a fence with washing line a vice and bungee cord

3 the box is a amstrad srx200(its actually older than me) the original sky box(without remote unfortunatly)

Blimy are there any of those ancient amstrads still going? I guess you wont get all the channels as the box will be looking for a 10GHz lnb instead of a 9.75 GHz lnb on the digibox.

Do you get anything when you connect the dihgibox to the dish? You will have to Add Channels (Services 4 4 ) Then watch them through Other Channels (Services 6) - it wont populate any sort of epg for you.

the only things i consider im missing out on are ard 1, tele 5, dsf and mtv.

Also quick question as the box is being confused by the universial lnb if i were to put say a blue cap on the dish whould i get these channels?

also yes i do get signal on the digibox but its foul the best i've manged is 28 seconds of moving picture

the analogue signal is pretty much perfect for some reason however

Those 4 are out of range for any 9750 MHz lnb used with one of those old Amstrads.

If you stick a 10GHz lnb on it then you will lose everything in Band D down at the bottom of the frequency range!

i found that out yesterday after working out that my amstrad cant go down below (1)0971

i really cant be botherd to sort out the digital thing so i'll stick with analogue for the moment until they chop the tree down

i dont suppose anyone hear could tell me if theres actually anything decent on duna tv?
