It may not be professional kit, but you can't argue with £40 for a useable satellite receiver
![]() Bring on the Comag questions! More people set free from the Sky mind-control machine! Ooh, have I got a little bit too excited there? ![]()

It's the FTA Comag/Silvercrest SL65. Same model number for both flavours.

Bought mine same time last year(must be a lidl Bank Holiday special) Full title Silvercrest DVB-S SL65 As far as i am aware this model cannot be patched. It has a small memory (still larger & better than my own ).I have been unable to add or edit extra sats & dont seem to get a signal other than on the preset sats. of which there are ten. The presets dont include 33e.e.g. foxturk so do not expect to recieve free E.P.L. football on this sat. The sl 65 that i have has the full title in the panel above the manual push buttons for channel/volume +&-. The operating manual just shows sl 65. The earlier version of this box was / is patchable7sats can be added 7 edited via menus on page 31. The operating manual being version 1.0. daated 03.05.05. The box i have is version 1.1. dated 01.03.06. The relevent menu is on page 39. If possible you need to look7 the menu page to see if sats can be added via the menu, if not you may be buying(a stairway to heavennn. sorry could not stop myself.) something that will not live upto your expectations. If you need something extra from your box this probably is not the one. Having said that it is a good entry level box with lots of fta. stuff & foriegn language channels Hope this info. will be of assistance.

I'm sure your box can be made to work on any satellite. There's nothing special about 33E and there must be a reason why you can't get FoxTurk for example. It may be that the SR of that transponder falls outside of the operating range of your receiver. :? It's pretty low at 3124.
Another thing that may be preventing reception is that the receiver is at maximum channel storage capability i.e. you need to delete some stuff before you can add more. Pick a satellite from the box that you won't use much, rename it, alter the orbital position, delete all the transponders and then add 11110 H 3124 3/4 and scan it - once you think you have a lock on 33E of course. Try 11596 V 27500 5/6 to see if it's an SR related problem. You should be able to hijack any of the satellites pre-programmed into the receiver. I know I've not posted this on the best thread, but I'm in a bit of a rush this morning! Don't give up on this just yet.

Just thought I'd put my tuppence worth in as i haven't posted in a while.
I bought this system last year and have been well happy with it ![]() ,alltho in hindsight i would buy just the box with the separate sat finder and get a bigger dish a some better cable. Hope this helps anyone whose thinking of getting one. Rich |

They still have plenty of the satellite kits for 60 quid (mains SL65, 57cm dish, twin LNB, sat cable, scart cable, wall mount) and just the receiver on its own for 40. The full kit's not bad value for a beginner system. Maybe they'll soon mark down their prices? Sol |
