Somtimes it is necessary to change the elevation on the motor.

Once you are sure that you have the best you can get by adjusting dish declination and the position of the motor around the pole, and you think that it is still not right, you will have to do some "arc tuning"

Take the dish to the either ends of the arc, say 39E and 30W, and make a note of whether you have to tilt the dish up or down in order to improve the signal.

Once you have done this, you can see if your arc is too steep, too shallow, or off to one side.

Titlting the dish down more, steepens your arc, tilting it up makes it shallower. However, if the dish needs tilting, then the motor elevation will need to be adjusted the opposite way to compensate.
