Default Eutelsat W2 (16'E)

Hi guys, 1st post here so wish me luck

I spent last year locked on to Hotbird (13'E) watching football on ART sports. I have since been told that ART will no longer be showing the football and I now need to switch to Eutelsat (16'E) for my football.

So, I have bought a viewing card and was ready to move my dish.....

Now here is my problem, using my original 60CM dish, I dont seem to be able to get any hint of a signal on Eutelsat (16'E), nothing at all. But I can get Hotbird (13'E), Astra (19.2'E) and Astra (23'E).... so why not Eutelsat (16'E)???

UPDATE: It was suggested that maybe my dish was too small.... So I purchased a 100CM ISS solid dish and put that up, but I can't get any signals from anything with the new dish, whats going on??

My local satellite man seems to think that the arm (that holds the LNB) is too long on the new 100CM satellitem is that a possibility?

Try using this frequency, its quite strong.

10956, H,02821, 2/3.

Are you using a meter or just the read out from the receiver?

Default No signal to my new 100CM dish

I have just replaced my 60CM dish with a 100CM dish to allow me to get digitALB on Eutelsat (13'E).

But since changing dishes, I do not seem to be able to pick anything up. So I switch back to the old dish and all is fine again....

What could be wrong with the bigger dish?

I am using the same LNB on both dishes..... does the length of the LNB holding arm effect the signal much (only the arm on the 100CM dish is pretty long)?

You will have to enter those figures into your satellite receiver.

What are you using? and what meter?

10.956 you enter into frequency then H, as there are Vertical and horizontal polarities, but dont worrie about these too much.

Sybol rate is 02821 and ratio is 2/3.

Enter these into your receiver, then while looking at the signal read out of your receiver, move your dish, 16E is in between 19E and 13E.

Have you found the other birds with your new dish?

OK thanks!

No, I can't find anything with the 100CM dish... nothing at all....

I am using the same LNB and meter for both dishes. But the 60CM dish picks up everythin except Eutelsat (16'E)...

Is it possible that the arm on the 100cm dish is too long, or is that crazy?

Are you using the needle type meter?

If the lnb arm came with the dish, then its probably the correct one and length.

It sounds like a top quality meter.
How have you got this dish set up? Have you taken down your 60cm dish and replaced it with the new 1M dish, or have you got it on a separate set up?
Try locating Hotbird 13E, or Astra 1 19.2E, first with your dish as these are stronger satellites than 16E and then you can gently move your dish to 16E.
