Hi to all,
I hope someone can help me on this. I have a Silvercrest SL65, linked to a motorised dish, and have successfully set up the unit to find all the existing sats that came programmed into the receiver (e.g. 19.2e, 28.2e, Hispasat 30w etc. However, now I want to set up a Sat not already preprogrammed into the receiver but I can't find a way. I've checked through the manual, which is meagre enough, but no success. I was able to edit the preprogrammed sats to tell the motor what angle to move to, and edit their name if necessary, but I can't find out how to set up a satellite from new. Maybe it's not possible with this unit - if so fair enough, but it's so good in other ways I feel it's me whose thick! Any help would be appreciated. Gerard |

I'm sure gcos will be very glad of your help. He's been asking around the forum for several days now, but nobody has had the answer (yet!)

He is not the only one BGonaSTICK.Your plea to Silvercrest owners on my behalf sadly fell on deaf ears.Unless they have not read/ had the time to answer our posts/pleas.I was able to delete Hispasat from the pre sets as it is unobtainable for me .I was able to input name of new sat (as per your reply) & scanned all channels on 28.5e which i already new was pre positioned before i nudged round & all channels loaded successfully. When i nudged round to 33e i was not able to register anything . I will try again when i get time .Ido seem to have a problem trying to locate sats. that are not already pre set. I will not surrender.

I posted a reply to more sat stuff from Lidl, regarding the differences between the earlier boxes ie. 2005 Version 1.0 patchable & facility to add / edit new sats,& the 2006 Version 1.1 which is not patchable & does not appear to have the facility to add/ edit new sats. Is this still the 2007 Version?.The reason for my post was to try & stop this situation from arising

Right here goes....Select "menu" on the remote and then select "Installation" press ok.
"Antenna Setup" is highlighted press ok. The top item in this list is called "Satellite" press 2 on the remote and the satellite that is now selected is called "New Satellite". Now press 1 on the remote and the on screen keyboard will be displayed. Using the up/down/left/right remote buttons highlight "del" on the on screen keyboard and then press ok on the remote keyboard until the words "New Satellite" are deleted from the on screen keyboard display. Now type in the name of the satellite that you wish to name and when finished press ok on the keyboard followed by ok on the remote. Then you can set up the parameters for this satellite as you are returned to the "installation" window Then do an auto scan on this new satellite. click ok to save data any time that you are asked. And that should be it |

Hi all
Many thanks for everyone's efforts to help, and especially BPW. I just found out how to do it myself and was about to post the method when I noticed BPW's reply. The extra piece of info I was missing is how to tell the receiver what the new sat postion actually is. As per BPW's instructions, but after telling the unit that you are using USAlS, hit the 'enter' button here (not 'exit'). This brings up the menu where you input the new satellite longitude position ,and your own previously entered lat and long already appear here. I was hitting 'exit' aftere selecting USALS ,thinking it would bring me to the next menu - all it did was bring me back out of installation. Hope this helps others, and againg thanks to all for the interest. Regards, Gerard |
