Because they would get their @rse whipped by Sky, and end up being prosecuted. I imagine it is just not worth the risk.

Thank you for your email regarding purchasing a Sky+ equipment.

Sky retails various packages of channels (some owned by Sky, but the majority being third party channels) to viewers in the UK and Eire under the terms of agreements which we have with the rights holders for those channels.

Sky does not have the right to broadcast the channels outside the UK and Eire and it is for this reason that our customer contract states that subscribers cannot take their viewing cards and receiving equipment abroad and use them to view Sky's retailed channels. One exception to this is Sky News which is currently broadcast unencrypted across Europe.

I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

I have a motorised dish, I only point it at 28E for the kids programmes, otherwise I stay mainly on 7W, unless it rains too hard, then I go channel hunting on the other satellites.

Be careful using credit cards to subscribe - you CANNOT cancel the continuous credit authority - the organisation you are paying to has to do it!

Agree, if you use a debit card, you control it,if its a credit card Sky control it.
