what is the best sat for uk programs ftv fta
Is the skysat the best i can get?

The most FTA populated sat is Astra 28.2. over 200 channels,and yes
150 are rubbish, Astra 19 and Hotbird do carry a few FTA english channels.

Others on the site will be better informed,I use A Sony when it does not hang up, but have to preprogramme the day/time.

sorry but sony is on my bouycot list dont purchase their products anymore.

Trouble with all these PVRs is, they all hang up at some time, but the Sony 711 is a swine.

I have a question again.
I have been reading about pvrs. some say freeview terrestrial receiver. can these be used for satallite viewing or am i getting confused.

It gets confusing, there are dual PVRs, working on both Terrestrial
and satellite, I think Topfield make them?

A terrestrial PVR will however record sat, if the feed is attached from a
sat reciever, My Sony Freeview PVR 711, will record Sat via a scart lead into
the rear from my Comag. But only SD.

In answer to your question,a freeview terrestrial PVR will not recieve sat standalone, so no.
