Default History, Nature, Science Channels

Hello Again!

My mother now has a digital TV with all the free analogue and digital rubbish you typically get. I am looking for a set-up where she can get access to the most channels with content about nature, science, natural history, archaeology etc. Would I have to go the Sky subscription route, or are there other satellite dish configurations which I should consider first maybe?

She is currently using her original analogue aerial, so maybe there are such fta channels available, if we were to get a better aerial or move existing aerial around a bit?

It's Sky I'm afraid, unless you want to consider the fairly pathetic offerings from TopUp TV or foreign-language versions on satellite.
