Enjoyable movie. Not very challenging, but the plot skips along pretty well, and you can't help but get involved with the main character (played by Will Ferrell).
Dustin Hoffman plays the detached literary professor superbly. Some wonderful 'stoney-faced inevitability' scenes, with just a glimmer of compassion sprinkled on top. The man is a genius, turning a minor part into a memorable performance. Emma Thompson plays the eccentric, broken-down author struggling with a plot, but the film doesn't have the same diagnosis. A little slow to get going and a predictable end didn't spoil the film for me. Beware the apple ![]() Currently showing on Taquilla 3. Probably.
