Default ARD in HD

Quote:
German public broadcaster ARD will showcase HD during this year’s consumer electronics show IFA in Berlin. With a special HD version of its Eins Festival channel the broadcaster will show a variety of cultural and music programming in full HD quality. The broadcaster will be available across Europe as a free-to-air signal in MPEG-4 (H.264) on the Astra satellite at 19.2 degrees East.

I look forward to it, ARD is a fantastic public broadcaster, this should rival BBC HD im sure, its about time Germany has HD from its public broadcaster even though its only a short test

Totally off topic but this is ARD's launch in colour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2-Zzrmut-Q

720p is now the EBU official method and Interlaced technology frowned upon, I'm quite shocked by this, no wonder ARD is 720p

Speaking of ARD Einfest now actually showing a promo for what they will be showing during the event.

One more.

And now its back to static info card, there clearly is a difference in the quality, this is due to the transponder jam packed with MPEG-2 SD services....

Wont show on these images but when you blown up the video to anything id say about 32" you will notice the blocks.

She's Eins Festival is back for the Easter weekend, much better quality after the recent ARD transponder shake up.

12422 H 27500, still 1280x720p

Still FTA and still DVB-S and AVC H.264.
