That's pretty amazing
If I wasn't up to my armpits in fixing broken computer stuff, I'd have a go at that. It's going on my to-do list anyway ![]()

its so easy it hurt..when you have installed mint do the update but on boot up revert to the old kernel. it works as sweet as a nnut.i left the pc on lastnight with kaffeine as my dvb-s player and do you want to know something that even surprised me more.. not one dropped frame all night thats 8 hours of solid useage..
i feel we are getting very close now to the age of linux.....the dual boot install was easy updateing was easy installing apps was easy getting my nasty broadcom a/b/g wifi working was hekk to easy... its a live cd or dvd..so you can allways try before you install ![]() http://www.linuxmint.com/ |

You mean it boots and runs off the disk like Knoppix, without installing anything?

I take it that's a video driver and it will work OK without, as I don't have nvidia cards in any of my boxes ATM.
Just checking before I download it ![]() I don't really have time to do this, but you have my attention now ![]()

I'm just about to start a rebuild of this machine, so I might wait until then and install properly on an old disk.
Also, I see you've shown your hand on the weather satellite reception front in your sig, which is something I've always been tempted with. So, I'm afraid you cannot leave the forum until I have bled you dry of any useful information... ![]() There are a couple of tentative posts regarding weather satellites on the forum somewhere.
