Default Sesat

Hi

This is a great site, have been avidly reading the advice but have a question. I have sky basic package at $15 per month but only have that cos kids love Disney channel. I have been trying to find out whereelse I can get disney channel but in uk it is either sky or virgin ot tiscali via broadband , none of which is good for me so I started to look into accessing other satellites which led me here!!

I know dstv which a south african channel does have disney and is on the sesat satellite , is it possible for me to tune into this with the right equipment in the uk? I am still reading your help and researching whta equipment i will need so am just a beginner but basically I woul like to keep my sky dish and receiver to get freeview and get another dish and receiver to try to get disney and maybe some sports too. I am very pc literate to a hacking standard but obviously am new to satellite. Any pointers to other good resources to research setting up home satellite systems would be much apprerciated. Cheers guys.

Get a Technomate 1000D

There are loads of Disney channels that can be opened with this receiver, I know there is definately some Disney stuff on 19.2e and 10e that can be opeend with a Patched 1000D

You won't get any of the African stuff on Sesats African beam over here without a huge dish 2m+ You can get stuff off Sesat but only on the fixed european beam

Thanks for your replies nanochicken and satsid.......much appreciated. I was looking at a budget of about £120 for receiver, dish , lnb etc in order to primarily get disney and to continue this as a hobby. Would you say it is doable for that?
